"My name is Camilla and I have lived in Tanzania for the past 7 years before I came to Denmark this year. I chose SIP because I wanted to continue at a school with international focus. I wanted to develop my project working skills further and try something different. For the Danmarks Indsamlings project I am in the steering committee. It is hard work but I feel I am getting a lot out of it. We are always moving further and we are learning that our work can make a huge difference to many people."

Sara Hofmann"Hey, my name is Sara and I chose SIP because I wanted to try something different. I got what I asked for and it's amazing! I love that we have to interact with real organizations and do a difference, especially with Danmarks Indsamling. Also, I found out the best work-method for me and how to work in a corporation- like a group."

Jens Skriver Jørgensen"Hey, my name is Jens Skriver Jørgensen. I come from a small village called Bjerager, located near Odder. I chose SIP because I thought it was way more interesting than a normal school year – I get to work with projects, leadership and things I don’t normally learn about in school. I like to work with Danmarks Indsamling because it’s very “real” in a sense that I get to work very professionally, both in what we create and the people we end up contacting and working with."

Tobias Abrahamsen
"My name is Tobias and I'm from Skanderborg. I chose SIP because I love working with projects and I would also like to develop my ideas into a finished product. I like working with Danmarks Indsamling because we do charity work and we can help others. Within the Danmarks Indsamling project, I have a big responsibility in the sponsor race group. Organising the sponsor races is hard work but also nice because we see an almost immediate result when we collect a lot of money."

Benjamin Tillemann Albert
"My name is Benjamin and I'm from Randers. I love the work we are doing in SIP. It really means a lot to me that we collect money for charity as a big part og the school time. I chose SIP class because i wanted a different year compared to the school I went to before. The thing I like the most about SIP is the way we are different from all the other classes at the school and therefore we connect to each other in a total different way."

Charlotte Rahbek"My name is Charlotte, I'm from Birgittelyst near Viborg. I chose SIP because I wanted a different year where I learn to work in new ways. In our current project, Danmarks Indsamling, I am in the sponsor race group. In the sponsor race group we go to public schools and organize sponsor races. I'm also in the PR group where we contact the media and press to make sure that we get media attention. I like this project because we get to work with real people and we have a big responsibility. I love that we get the opportunity to help other people and that we go to Nepal to see what we have donated money to."

Peter Sloth
"Hello, my name is Peter Sloth and
I have been teaching at Skals since 1998. Together with three other teachers,
back in 1999, we started the first SIP-class at Skals Efterskole. At that time
it was something very unique and quite an experiment. At first, we decided to run it as a pilot project for a couple of years to find out if it would
work. It did. As it was our
own 'invention' , we could pretty
much decide what we expected from the class. Skals International
Project-class was a success from the very beginning and still is.
I love to see how much the students in the class mature, and how they learn to
take responsibility for their own learning. SIP is known
all over Denmark now, and each year they make me very proud.
Besides supervising SIP, I also teach gymnastics and tumbling. I love doing that too, because I believe in the importance of students being active and exercising together. At the end of year, this culminates in a performance put on by the students, for their parents." |
